Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the SJSU WorkAbility IV Program, you must be:

  • Registered as a consumer with the California State Department of Rehabilitation.

  • A student with a documented disability whose goal is to seek a career in his or her academic field upon graduation.

  • A matriculated, full-time SJSU student taking a minimum of 12 units per semester (unit load may be less than 12 units with special, documented circumstances).

  • In good academic standing at SJSU and with your major department; must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0.

  • Registered with the SJSU Disability Resource Center within 90 days of acceptance into the WorkAbility IV Program.

  • A student who actively participates in WorkAbility IV programs and demonstrates reasonable progress in career development and employment preparation.

  • A student that demonstrates an on-going commitment to completing an internship or gaining other exposure to an employment setting prior to graduation.
